Ingredients
- 1 pound of beans, navy/northern/white beans - soaked in water with 1 tsp baking soda 4-6 hours
- 1 ham, shank steak
- bacon, desired amount
- pepper, about 20 shakes
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 ounces of Sour Cream
- 1/2 cup of Cheddar cheese, sharp, shredded
- 1/4 cup (1 stick) of butter, melted
- 1 can of corn, whole kernel
- 1 can of corn, cream style

Instructions
Drain Drain water from soaked beans and rinse beans well. Put them back in the pot and cover with 3 inches of water
Add Add the salted pork, salt and pepper; approximately 20 shakes/twists.
Boil and Simmer Cook up to a boil, then reduce to medium, medium low. Leave for about an hour and a half, stirring every once in a while.
Preheat Preheat oven to 350 F
Whisk Whisk together dry ingredients *Note you can use Jiffy mix instead if desired
Mix In Mix in sour cream, cheddar, melted butter and cans of corn. Add pepper to taste.
Bake Bake at 350F for 45 min to 1 hr
