An easy to make vintage American twist on Spanish Stew. Ground beef, peas, carrots, onions, and tomatoes meld into a hearty, comforting dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 1/2 cups of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 cups of peas
  • 1/2 cup of diced carrots
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat and onion in fat.

  2. Add Add tomatoes and salt.

  3. Cook for 1/2 hour.

  5. Add peas Add peas and pepper to taste and heat through.

  6. Thicken Whisk together flour and 1/2 cup of water. Add to stew and stir over low heat until thickened.
