This of my version of the ultimate easy and cheater chicken pot pie. We make this on nights when the family is all going a different direction but we want some comfort food! It comes together really quickly and uses every day ingredients. When I have the time I make my own crust and I sometimes use different vegetables. I have even used frozen stew veggies that I thawed before cooking! Sometimes I used canned chicken! You can make it as easy or complicated as you want!
This recipe came from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. My husband is a “meat and potatoes” man, and he likes it a lot.
The tastiest, cheesiest enchiladas you’ll ever eat. No need to go to the restaurant once you’ve made your own.
This is a great way to cook on busy errand days. The gravy makes itself and the roast literally falls apart, you have to scoop it out with a spoon. You can even place the roast in FROZEN if you want just add a few hours extra time of cooking. It is always perfect and everyone eats it up–never much left over for lunches.
I’ve tried numerous shredded chicken sandwich recipes and this one is far and away the best one. It was given to me by a friend who served it at her parent’s 50th wedding anniversary reception. Simple and tasty! It can be easily doubled for large crowds. Be sure to use a Reynold’s Crock Pot Liner for easy clean up. Serving number is an estimate. It depends on how much shredded chicken you pile onto the bun 🙂
