This is so much better when made with cabbage and potatoes straight from the ground. Most people I know use just a couple of tablespoons of spicy or hot sweet mustard, but I just use regular yellow mustard (and more of it) due to personal preference. I also use a lower fat pork & alligator sausage from Winn-Dixie that might not be available everywhere. I’m sure it would work with any kind.

This is an Australian bread which has been made for over 100 years. It was made by people camping in the bush by mixing flour and water, but now milk and salt are used for flavor. Enjoy the bread spread with jam. There are many variations to the recipe too, such as pumpkin damper. The dough was traditionally places on a stick and cooked over a fire (much the same way toasted marshmallows. are made)
I love making this. It’s such a nice winter meal, and it’s so easy and quick, and best of all..so economical!! Growing up, Mum made shepherds pie almost weekly. Over the years I have altered it, and this is the way my family enjoys it now. We don’t serve this with anything, except maybe a nice bread roll.
This has been one of my recipes for ages. I got it from a magazine, but I’ve no idea which one. It is very simple to make, and looks very impressive as part of an antipasto platter. Cooking time is refrigeration time. I prefer to use field mushrooms because they have more flavour, but it has a more dramatic visual effect if you use the buttons. They also soak up a lot of flavour from the dressing. Since the dressing is so simple, it relies on good ingredients. Please use fresh everything for optimal results.
