Rice Flour Crepes / Pancakes- Gluten, Dairy and Egg Free

This recipe was given to me whilst I was on an allergy elimination diet. It has no gluten, dairy or eggs. A basic recipe, but not bad when your diet is restricted. The best rice flour to use is a very fine textured flour-you can buy it at most asian grocers. The coarser textured rice flour will taste gritty in your baked goods. It’s been a while since I made these-so I’m guessing that they serve 4. These are also vegetarian. As all gluten-free flours are a little different in how much liquids they absorb-add some extra liquid if required to achieve the right consistency

Easy Passionfruit Slice / Bars

Super easy slice to prepare…no electric mixer required. Found in an old magazine at work. This slice works equally well using regular wheat flour or ga blended gluten-free flour mix. My photos are showing the gluten-free version- use gf flour and the slice is gluten-free suitable. This recipe uses a standard size tin of condensed milk and passionfruit pulp in syrup, so there is no wastage

Slow Roast Leg of Lamb

Variation of a recipe I found on the ABC site. They included a serving suggestion but there are plenty of great sauces on RecipeZaar so I omitted that section. Personally I served with Recipe#174543 but thought I’d leave this as an easy to prepare basic techique you can adapt yourself.

Berry & Banana Smoothie

A scrumptious, low fat, low GI smoothie which I found in the October 2005 issue of the Australian magazine ‘Delicious’ and have adapted. Because it’s different from other smoothies I’ve made, I have posted it here for safekeeping – and for the 2005 Zaar World Tour.

Baby Spinach, Pear and Walnut Salad

A refreshing and flavoursome salad which is visually appealing and complements any meat, rice or pasta dish. Adapted from a recipe in the latest issue of the Australian magazine ‘New Idea’. When I posted this initially, I just listed “pears” in the ingredients, but have since located the pears specified, and I have made the salad with those pears: CORELLA PEARS. See notes below.
