British Baked Beans
These are really good homemade baked beans (UK style, similar to Heinz baked beans here, not like Boston Baked Beans). It’s a recipe which I got from Waitrose www.waitrose.com/recipes I’m putting it up here for safe keeping, this is now a firm family favourite. Please note that preparation and cooking times do not include the preparation of the beans.
Mr Falafel’s British “Fish n Chips”
This recipe comes from Mr Falafel on the newsgroup alt.food.vegan and it is a great vegan version of the traditional fish and chips. Tastes pretty good and it is as close as you will get to the experience if you are vegetarian.

British Beans on Toast
Great snack to munch on while watching your favorite British programs. Drink with Strongbow cider 😉 Tip: DO NOT USE AMERICAN Pork & Beans, Boston Baked Beans or “Bush’s Beans” etc… ONLY Heinz or Batchelor’s brand please, otherwise it might be gross. Don’t worry; most American grocery stores sell HEINZ and BATCHELOR’S, in the International/European/English/Irish aisle. I’ve been all over the US and found them in Safeway, Kroger, Stop & Shop, etc. I’ve never not been able to find one of those two brands in the USA.
