Posted for Zaar World Tour 2005. From a cookbook of countries along the Danube, this came from Austria, right next door to Germany, so I’ve classified as Germanic. I have not tried this recipe yet, but it sounds wonderful. Please note that it calls for 1 cup of already whipped cream (not 1 cup of whipping cream). Hopefully the calorie and fat content will reflect this! (Looks like it did.) Cook time includes chill time.
Ive been so cold lately and was searching for something minty and chocolatey. This one from a local news show warms you from the inside out and rivals a hot chocolate that I once had in Austria. Yummy! Makes 2 large portions or 4 normal sized ones.
This recipe is simple, but delicious. The apple and caraway seed give it a really nice flavor and it makes a good accompaniment to any German-style food.

These are sweet ‘stick to the gums’ cakes. Very simple to make and look very pretty on a tray if you use a red jam.
