This is a recipe I found on Taste of Home site that I modified to add another veggie and some seasoning. This salad is more on the sweet side versus being a tangy vinegar type of dressing.
Prepare Banana Dressing about 2 hours in advance and refrigerate. A very pretty presentation that can be served as a side salad, light lunch, or snack. Feel free to sub fruits if one listed is not available or not to your liking.
I was desperately searching for the rather plain macaroni salad served at Ono Hawaiian BBQ and this one comes close! Apparently, this is a typical macaroni salad from the islands. I’ve also made it with tuna instead of crab, and edamame (soy beans) instead of peas, and it turned out great!
This is wonderful served with crispy fried chicken or baked ham! Prep time is approximate. Cook time is how long I chilled mine.
