Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Grease a square baking pan (8 x 8).

  3. Mix Crisco, peanut butter, both sugars and egg thoroughly. (spray cooking spray in your measuring cups before you add Crisco and peanut butter for an easier clean up).

  4. Stir in water, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add in HALF of the chocolate chips.

  5. Spread in pan.

  6. Bake about 20 minutes.

  7. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle remaining 6 oz. chocolate chips over top. cover with a cookie sheet so that they melt.

  8. spread softened morsels over the top. Sprinkle with peanuts.

  9. Refrigerate several hours.

  10. Remove from refrigerator and let sit about 15 minutes.

  11. Cut into 2x1" bars.
