Robin’s Brownie Cake

Ingredients

Cake
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
- 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter
- 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 cup of water
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Frosting
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 6 tablespoons of milk
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter
- 3/4 box (about 2 1/2 cups) of powdered sugar
- 1 cup of chopped nuts
Instructions

PreheatPreheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease and flour baking pan.

WhiskWhisk together flour and sugar. Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and baking soda. Set aside.

HeatIn a saucepan, water, heat butter, cocoa to a boil.

MixPour into baking soda and buttermilk mixture. Mix in eggs and vanilla.

CombineCombine wet mixture in with flour and sugar mixture. Still until well mixed together.

BakePour evenly into pan and bake for 20-30 minutes.

Prepare FrostingBeat together all frosting ingredients until fluffy.
Notes
You can use margarine instead of butter for the cake and frosting if you prefer.
