Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Cream shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in egg and vanilla until incorporated.

  4. Stir in malted milk powder, then flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.

  5. Fold in chocolate chips.

  6. Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing evenly.

  7. Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
