Bulgarian Moussaka

Unlike what you might expect, this is one of the easiest dishes in my repertory. In takes time to bake but preparation is a breeze. There are an awful lot of different moussakas that I suppose all originate from different parts of the Balkans. This is the most popular one in Bulgaria and when you order moussaka in a Bulgarian restaurant this is exactly what you are going to get. All others are named after the veggies used — moussaka with zucchini, with eggplant or vegetarian moussaka (rice and vegetables).

Bulgarian Vegetarian Mish Mash

Great vegetarian dish. Very simple to make with just a few ingredients. Could be served either as a main course or as a side dish. You can use 2 yellow (instead of green) and 2 red bell peppers if you prefer. If you like feta, you could use more. I personally, love feta and double the amounts for the feta. This super cheese dish goes great with a crispy crust bread like ciabatta. Enjoy!

Bulgarian Potatoes

I have not tried this one yet, but it is in the list here soon. I am ALWAYS looking for a new way to fix potatoes (my DH and DSS don’t eat rice). This looks like it might be a nice change of pace.
