When you want a taste of Hawaii but can’t dig an Imu in your yard and there are no KTA’s or Star markets around.

Recipe from a friend who served it as part of a poolside buffet. Add a can of chinese baby corn at the end for more color and texture.
Our pastor’s wife, while we were stationed in Hawaii, gave me this recipe. It taste just like the imu pit roast pork, like they serve at luaus. It’s really easy to prepare too. I get tons of compliments and requests for the recipe every time I make it. It is really suppose to say 1 handful of rock salt, but the system won’t take that as a measurement. I usually halve the recipe, so I’m not real sure how many servings this makes. I know it makes LOTS. Also – not sure what the size of the bottle is for liquid smoke, but it’s small and I believe it is the only size you can buy at a regular grocery store. This can be frozen and tastes just as good, even a month later!
Great for luaus, family gatherings, barbecues and other occasions where you have a few mouths to feed.
This sauce is so good I entered it in the BBQ Sauce Cook Off 9/07. Use this sauce on ribs, chicken, pork chops, seafood… Heck, just about anything! It promises to give you the ULTIMATE in flavor. I used this sauce on ribs, and they are absolutely to die for, and the BEST ribs I have ever had the pleasure of making and eating… This recipe is heaven sent, especially for us rib lovers, using 3 racks of baby back ribs! I double the sauce, and use every last bit. Any sauce that may be left over after basting, you can spoon on ribs right before serving. Definately one not to be missed!
