British Mamgus Pancakes

Very light pancakes. The BIG difference between our style of measuring and the British method is that they use a scale to measure ingredients. Since this is a British recipe, please use a scale to measure the flour and sugar or it will not turn out right. Milk can be measured in a measuring cup. From telegraph.co.uk site.

Austrian Kaiserschmarren With Raisins and Plum Jam

ZWT 6. These pancakes are delicious. I just tried them this morning. I heated the juice of half an orange in the microwave and put the raisins in the hot juice to plump up. If you don’t have cake flour or pastry flour on hand, use all purpose white flour, but use 2 tbsp less flour.

Fladle Noodles (For Soup)

On a recent trip to Austria, we enjoyed several soup containing these unique noodles. Yield is estimated in pancakes, but these will be sliced into noodle strips.

Frittatensuppe – Beef Broth Topped With Strips of Sliced Pancake

Austria is a heaven for soup lovers, no meal starts without it. Fritattensuppe is traditionally a home made beef broth topped with rolled up and then thinly sliced strips of pancake, called frittatas. For this application, the pancake doesn’t have to be super thin and should be fried golden brown.
