Catalan Chickpeas

Your kids will love this! A wonderful combination of chickpeas and raisins with the added depth of almonds. Ideal with pork chops or on its own.

Bullock’s Tea Room, Cantonese Chicken Salad

The Los Angeles Times published this recipe in 1979, back when chinese chicken salads were all the rage. I still make this recipe but usually add some manderin orange segements on top.

British Almond Soup

Almonds use to be a great feature of British cookery, where they were toasted as a garnish and flavouring for green beans, or pounded, as a thickener for sauces or to lighten cakes and puddings. This soup is served either hot or chilled.

Bulgarian Rock

Bulgarian Rock very hard nougat. This recipe is an old family recipe I have had for years. I used to make for my DH all the time, and he loved it, as did all who tasted it. I have been asked for the recipe a few times, so I am posting it here for others to view. Bulagarian Rock is well know to many Aussies as it is sold in a well known chocolate shop here, although this not be the exact recipe it is very similar. The serving size is up to how large or small you break the pieces. Beware…Its very nice, but you may get a sore jaw from eating it!!!! Ohh and dont go overboard on the blue food coloring as I did once!! lol

Raspberry Marzipan Tart

A simple to make but very rich dessert. Serve small slices of this decadent treat 🙂 Garnish with Fresh Strwberries for a more elegant presentation if you like.
