Chicken Wings in Ok Sauce

This recipe was told to me by two chinese friends after I had been for a meal at their home and told them how much I had enjoyed the taste. It is quite easy to prepare and the ingrediants are easy to aquire localy.

Chilli, Salt and Pepper Squid

This classic Cantonese starter is simple to make, but for real success, there are a couple of rules you need to follow. Most important: always use clean oil for your deep-frying. The resulting batter will be crisp, crunchy and light, as opposed to heavy, greasy and ‘dirty’ in flavour. And be sure to serve it immediately: this dish is best eaten piping hot.

Lotus Flowers

These are lovely little fritters–sort of Chinese beignets–with a very mild flavor. Delicious served with a sweet, spicy dipping sauce.

Num Chet Chien (Cambodian Banana Nuggets)

I’m posting this recipe with the permission of the author. You’ll find this recipe and many others on an interesting blog: http://gormandizewithus.blogspot.com.au/ These are some variations the author has tried and enjoyed: Here are some variations that I’ve tried which are also amazing: 1) Add a small chunk of dark chocolate with the piece of banana 2) Add a slice of cream cheese with the piece of banana (it goes all melty and yummy)

Cabbage Free Cambodian Egg Rolls

This is my mother in laws receipe for cambodian egg rolls. She is originally from Cambodia, and these are by far the best egg rolls I have ever eaten. These have no cabbage in them, and the noodles you will find in the asian aisle at your local supermarket. No trip to an asian market required 🙂 1 pound of meat needs 1 package of egg roll wrappers. Make sure to let your egg roll wrappers thaw an hour before starting, as per the directions
