A quick to prepare Asian-influenced salad which could be served as a main course or a side dish, from ‘tossed: 200 fast, fresh and fabulous salads’. If any of your mushrooms are particularly large, quarter them or chop them to an appropriate size. Ideal for making on a busy week-night with a takeaway – or take out – roasted chicken. BTW, 7 oz = 200g; 14 oz = 400g. The lime and soy dressing could be made in advance.
This is one of those easy=peasey recipes you can do when you want an easy night! especially true is you have some leftover rice:)
Ika Shoga-yaki is simple but is a very popular dish in Japanese cuisine. Ika means squid, shoga means ginger and yaki means grill or fry. This recipe was given to me by a Japanese friend. I really enjoy squid and this makes a quick dinner or entree. 15 minutes marinating time is included in cooking time. An Australian tablespoon is 20 mls/one Australian tablespoon is 4 US/UK teaspoons)
This is a combination of two sate recipes from the Australian Womens Weekly Chinese Cookbook circa 1970’s. We use Jimmy’s Sate sauce which is a bean based sate with peanuts but they are not the predominate flavour or ingredient. Have not included time for peeling prawns but it takes me about 30 to 40 minutes to peel a kilo (the larger the prawns the quicker to peel). We have also used this recipe to make beef sate which takes a little longer to cook, we use rump which I pound out and cut into small bite size squares.
This is a chicken on a skewers recipe with Lebanese flavours. The whole family enjoyed this dish, even three year old Little Miss (DD). The only change I would make is I would make less of the Toum (Garlic Sauce) as it was way too much for our family and I don’t know how to divided the quantity as it’s impossible to half an egg. (Any suggestions)? I used Chicken thighs instead of breast, Egg Replacer to substitute the egg and I would recommend to marinate overnight. We served it with Recipe #218542 . This recipe comes from a book called ‘The Lebanese Cookbook’ by Hussien Dekmak – Passive work time does not include marinated time
