Nazook, Buttery Armenian Streusel-Stuffed Pastries
This is my grandmother Nina’s recipe and yields about 4 dozen cookies, which seems like a lot, til you taste one, then it won’t be enough!

This is my grandmother Hyganoush’s recipe. Light and fluffy and delicious. Can be served with maple syrup or confectioners sugar or BOTH! Great breakfast! I should also add that batter can be mixed the night before and placed in refrigerator overnight to rise. Take out and leave at room temperature for 1/2 hour or so before frying. When we were kids we used to see all sorts of people and animals in the shapes.
I took this recipe from Hilda (someone in the net!) and posted it here because I couldn’t find on Recipezaar an accurate recipe for this delicious Armenian pastry! Loads of fat and calories in them but absolutely worth it! (Preparation times includes 5 hours to refrigerate the dough).
Armenia is famous for its sweet and spicy nutmeg cake. It has a crunchy base and light cake topping, and tastes delicious. This recipe was given to me 16 years ago by the mother of one of my son’s kindergarten friends. Tried and true!
ZWT7 Africa. An intensely sweet dessert. Pretty much coconut candy. If you love shredded coconut, you’ll be in heaven. Make sure to add plenty of cinnamon; the warm spice rounds out the flavor. From, globaltableadventure.com.
