This is based on a recipe from Beatrice Ojakangas’, Great Holiday Baking Book. She explains, “Australians still participate in the tradition of four o’clock afternoon tea, which can be a simple or formal occasion, and features a selection of sandwiches, scones, cookies, and cakes that are fancy and plain. This is the time to rest and ‘restoke the furnace.’ These thin, crisp oat and coconut drop cookies are a welcome part of the simplest or most elaborate tea.” I haven’t yet tried this.
A reasonably low fat way to get that chocolate fix on a cold winter’s night (especially if you serve with a low fat ice cream).
I found this suggested on a New Zealand recipe forum when I was searching for recipes to use up some jelly crystals. My girls had a lot of fun making their *blue* biscuits and now have plans to make *green* ones!!! Great for a rainy school holiday day.
OMG this is so simple to make but for lovers of coffee & chocolate this is pure heaven. Give it a go!
This is the best pineapple upside-down cake! My mother has the same recipe in a book from the 1970’s and the same recipe is still available/posted on the Golden Circle website currently. Golden Circle is an Australian brand and canned from Australian grown products Sadly -this recipe I have not yet tried to make as gluten-free.
