Nutmeg Feather Cake
This aptly named and versatile vintage delight Nutmeg Feather Cake is indeed as light as a feather and easy to make. Top with your favorite frosting or slice and serve with fruit and whipped cream.

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup of margarine
- 1/4 cup of shortening
- 1 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of buttermilk
Instructions

PreheatPreheat oven 350°F (177°C). Grease and flour 9×13 baking pan.

Cream butter and shortening together.

Add sugar and cream until fluffy

Add vanilla

Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one until light and fluffy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients until well combined.

Mix together dry and wet mixtures gradually, alternating with milk.

BakeBake for 40 minutes or until done.
