Ingredients

Units Scale

Cinnamon Filling

  • 1 cup of brown sugar, packed
  • 3 Tablespoons of cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 cup of butter, softened

Dough

  • 4 cups of flour
  • 2 Tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons of salt
  • 6 Teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of Vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups of milk

Glaze

  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 34 Tablespoons of milk

Instructions

  • Filling
      1. Cream
Cream together butter, cinnamon and brown sugar
  • Dough
      1. Preheat
        Preheat oven to 400 F
      2. Whisk dry ingredients
whisk together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder until thoroughly mixed
      3. Whisk wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together oil, egg and milk
      4. Combine
Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
      5. Knead
        until smooth
      6. Roll
Roll dough to 1/2″ thickness or less. The more square your dough, the larger the roll will be.
      7. Spread the filling
Gently spread a thin layer of filling across the dough. Hands should move over dough easily without “snagging”.
      8. Roll into shape
Begin to roll the edge closest to you, tucking as necessary. Do not leave big gaps but do not roll it so tight as to stretch the dough.
      9. Cut
Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 3/4″ to 1 1/2″ slices depending on size preference. Place the rolls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
      10. Bake
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  • Glaze
    1. Mix
Mix powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, and enough milk to achieve a smooth consistency.
    2. Glaze
DO NOT PUT ON EXTREMELY HOT ROLLS. Wait at least 10-15 minutes before icing to achieve dripping glaze.
