- 4 apple(s), (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup of rolled oats, old fashion
- 1/4 cup of nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans work well)
- 1/4 cup of cranberries, currants or raisins also work
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 1/2 cup of apple juice, or cider
Instructions

PreheatPreheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the applesWash the apples and cut off the tops. Core the apples, leaving about a 1/2-inch thick layer at the bottom. You can use an apple corer or a knife.

Make the fillingIn a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, chopped nuts, dried cranberries or raisins, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

StuffPlace the cored apples in a baking dish, standing upright. Stuff each apple with the oat and nut mixture, pressing it down gently.

DrizzleDrizzle melted butter over the stuffed apples.

PourPour apple juice or cider into the bottom of the baking dish.

BakeCover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender.

CrispRemove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to allow the tops to crisp up slightly.

CoolOnce done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

ServeServe the baked stuffed apples warm, drizzled with any juices from the baking dish. You can also top them with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired. For extra sweetness, drizzle with a bit of caramel.
