Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 6 mild Italian sausage
  • 32 ounces chicken broth
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 1 pinch of tuscany seasoning
  • 1/4 cup graded parmigiana cheese
  • 8 ox. package cream cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté garlic in a large frying pan with high sides in the olive oil until tanned.  Discard.

  2. Cook sausages until just cooked through.  Remove sausages to a cutting board.  When cooled, slice each retaining their juice.

  3. Add the pasta and most of the chicken broth to the pan.  Bring it to a boil.  Add additional broth or water until absorbed and pasta is cooked al dente.

  4. Add the sliced sausages and their juices, Tuscany seasoning and the parmigiana cheese into the hot pan until incorporated.

  5. Optional, for a creamy sauce, add cream cheese to desired consistency while the pasta and pan are still hot.
