Ingredients
- 500g/1lb 2oz frozen red berries, such as raspberries, blackberries and cherries
- 50g/1¾oz caster sugar
- 1 heaped tbsp cornflour

Instructions
Put the frozen red berries and caster sugar in a saucepan and heat gently until the berries release their juices.
Mix the cornflour with a little cold water to make a smooth slurry.
Stir the cornflour slurry into the hot berries and cook until the mixture thickens.
Remove from the heat and leave to cool before using in the trifle.
