Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
Prepare the meatloaf mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Shape the loaf: Form the mixture into a loaf shape on the baking sheet or press it into the loaf pan.
Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard.
Add the glaze: Spread half the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes , or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) . About 10 minutes before it's done, spread the remaining glaze over the top.
Rest and serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve with coleslaw, roasted vegetables, or cornbread for a BBQ-inspired meal.
Notes
Tips:
- Add chopped bell peppers for extra texture and flavor.
- Use a mix of ground beef and ground pork for a richer taste.
- For a smoky kick, sprinkle a bit of chipotle powder into the glaze.
