- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground sage
- 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
Instructions

Transfer to the slow cooker: Carefully place the meatloaf into the slow cooker pot. Cover and cook on low heat for 6–7 hours .
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard, and ground nutmeg.
Add the glaze: Pour the sauce over the cooked meatloaf. Turn the slow cooker to high heat and cook for an additional 15 minutes .
Serve: Gently remove the meatloaf from the slow cooker and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
- Line the slow cooker with parchment paper for easier removal.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day!
