  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (stir in cranberries and set aside)
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans or 3/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups flour (save the 1/3 cup for the caramel) and the next 4 ingredients.

  2. Stir in butter until crumbly.

  3. Reserve a cup of this mixture.

  4. Press remaining mixture into lightly greased 13x9" pan.

  5. Bake 350ºF for 15 minutes.

  6. Sprinkle with cranberries and pecans.

  7. Stir together caramel and 1/3 cup flour.

  8. Spoon over cranberries.

  9. Sprinkle with reserve 1 cup mixture.

  10. Bake 25 more minutes.
