Equipment
Round glass or ceramic baking dish, pastry brush, oven
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 6 firm-ripe peaches, washed, halved and pitted
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup vanilla sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a pastry brush, butter the bottom and sides of a round glass or ceramic baking dish that will accommodate all the peaches. Place peach halves, skin-side down (flesh side up) in dish.
Place a pinch of ground cloves in center of each peach half. Brush peach halves with remaining melted butter and sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Bake 20 -30 minutes or until peaches are tender.
Serve warm or at room temperature, drizzled with pan juices. If desired, garnish with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and confectioners' sugar and a mint sprig.
