Rich Belgian-Style Waffles

These are really pretty simple to make and very good! My husband is always grateful when I make them. You can use reduced-fat sour cream successfully (if you wish). I have made a batch ahead of time and used them throughout the week as well.

Rich Man’s Hamburgers

This came from “The Great Big Burger Book,” by Jane Murphy and Liz Yeh Singh. It makes a rich and tasty splurge of a hamburger. This would also be good served with a mustard-horseradish sauce. An English recipe brought across the ocean to end up in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states.

Belgian Mussels

Another typical Belgian dish! It can be eaten in almost any restaurant during the mussel season. This absolutely has to be served with Belgian fries!

Belgian Lukken waffle cookies

This recipe is for Belgian Lukken cookies made in a Lukken iron (Lukijyer). You can also use an Italian Pizzelle maker which may be easier to find.

Gaufres (Authentic Belgian Waffles)

A recipe so authentic that I had to convert from grams and translate from French! These waffles are rich and delicious (don’t bother with syrup!), and the basic recipe is from a Belgian friend of mine.
