Poke. Most people on the islands pronounce it Pokey (like Gumby’s red pal) but it’s pronounced Poke (rhymes with Okay). Otherwise it would be spelled Poki in Hawaiian. Anyway, it’s usually made with ahi (the Hawaiian word for yellowfin tuna), basically it’s a raw fish salad, usually flavored with soy sauce, sesame oil, kukui nut, and seaweed.
This is a smoothie that I often throw together for breakfast. It also makes a great “milk shake” for the kids when they want some sort of treat. My kids still have not caught on that they are having something healthy!

In Germany, you find this on many appetizer menus. I can’t say that I have ever seen one in America, but they sure are tasty. These are especially kid-friendly. I also saw these made with diced chunks of ham and pineapple and shredded cheese on crusty rolls. French bread is really nice for these. Any bread will work as long as it is sturdy enough to hold the toppings.
