A delicious, fragrant broiled (or grilled) cornish hen which derives its glaze from apple jelly, apple cider and five-spice powder. Recipe from Weight Watchers – 7 points per 1/2 hen and 1/2 tbsp. glaze. You can substitute 1 1/2 pounds skinned chicken drumsticks for the Cornish Hens – just increase the cooking time by an additional 5-10 minutes and deduct 2 points per serving.
This is a recipe taken from a Delia Smith cookbook Once cooked, it will keep warm without coming to any harm, and it will also re-heat very successfully. And, yes, it does freeze well so, all in all, it’s a real winner of a recipe. It’s great because it can be made the day before and gently re-heated with no last-minute bother. It is a perfect accompaniment to venison, goose or pork (and if you have any left over it does wonders for bangers and mash).
Delicious apple with spiced fruit mince Its real comfort food served either hot or cold, with cream or ice cream, I made this in a hurry when I had unexpected visitors and it really was a hit
this is a recipe from Leeds England, when I make this the custard part turns out different at times, I think it depends on the juices from the apples used. yes everything sort of comes out of the apple, and goes into the juices which sort of combines with the custard.
