Belgian Tuile Cookies

Thin, delicate cookies from Belgium. One tip I read was to use a silicone liner for your baking sheet. The yield is approximate for the raw batter. Your actual number of cookies and cooking time will depend on your shapes. Have fun with the designs!

Cucumber Soup (Warm)

I never would have believed it, until someone made me eat some: cucumber soup can be served warm and is really yummy! It’s easy, quick, inexpensive, low fat, and really tasty – just perfect comfort food for the colder months! This is a traditional Belgian recipe. Even my kids loved this and said it tasted like broccoli and cheese soup – but better (I agree!). It has a very mild taste and the cucumber is not overwhelming. Some black pepper really brings out the best in this recipe.

Amazing Belgian Waffles

I found this on the internet-i made it easier by using the Saco Buttermilk Powder ( which lats a long time in the fridge)-I am posting this for safe keeping. I have tried a lot of waffle recipes and by far this is the best. I made this in the kitchenaid-gently and slowly so as not to overmix. Try real maple syrup- I am biased towards upstate NY maple syrup since my brother lives there ( he actually made syrup from some sugar maples in his backyard)
