Won Ton Appetizers

These are so cute! Be careful- don’t let these dry out while you’re finishing them off, or they’ll become sticky. Keep a damp teatowel over them. They’re very healthy too. The amount of wrappers needed is just an approximation. I’ve given two sauces, choose whichever you like. The first one is a traditional one, the second one isn’t. Also, if you feel the chives are a bit fiddly, place on a tray and bake these at 170 degrees C for 10 minutes for a healthy alternative to deep frying.

Cabbage Free Cambodian Egg Rolls

This is my mother in laws receipe for cambodian egg rolls. She is originally from Cambodia, and these are by far the best egg rolls I have ever eaten. These have no cabbage in them, and the noodles you will find in the asian aisle at your local supermarket. No trip to an asian market required 🙂 1 pound of meat needs 1 package of egg roll wrappers. Make sure to let your egg roll wrappers thaw an hour before starting, as per the directions

Belgian Endive with Egg Salad

I was so very lucky in that I was able to go to Italy, and I went to wonderful dinners where various stuffed endives were served. Egg salad was a nice, rich, savory favorite every time. 🙂

Oooh La La! French Savoury Ham, Cheese and Olive Cake

Another one of my savoury “cake” recipes from France. This recipe is slightly more substantial than my Recipe #316039, as this recipe contains ham with white wine and port! Serve this as alternative sandwich bread or as a light snack spread with cream cheese or butter. This cake recipe will also make fantastic little appetisers if the loaf is cut into small cubes and served with olives, cubes of cheese and savoury spreads. Please note that the texture of this savoury cake is NOT like a sweet dessert cake – it will be slightly holey with a robust and slightly chewy texture, almost like sourdough.
