Norwegian Rice Porridge
An easy, tasty, creamy rice porridge made with honey, cinnamon and vanilla. A perfect chilly morning treat!

1 1/2 cups medium-grain white rice
5 cups whole milk (divided)
3 cups water
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Boil rice and water in saucepan, turn heat to low, then cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until there is no more water.
- Stir in 1/3 of the milk to the rice, cover & cook for another 10 minutes, then follow with the rest of the milk.
- Add the rest of the ingredients (honey, butter, sugar, vanilla, salt) and stir in.
- After turning off heat, portion out into serving bowls and top with cinnamon.
