Liza’s irresistible Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars: a perfect harmony of crunchy, gooey goodness that will satisfy your sweet cravings!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter, unsalted, softened
  • 1 cup of peanut butter, crunchy
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar, dark, packed
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups of flour, all purpose
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt, sea salt or kosher
  • 2 cups of dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease 2 square 9×9 baking pans or line with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars
    In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs, Vanilla and Milk
    Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and milk. Mix until well combined
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Add Chocolate Chips
    Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Bake
    Pour the batter evenly into two prepared square baking pans.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pans on a wire rack before slicing.
