Ham Casserole I
A great way to use up holiday ham leftovers! This 1963 recipe uses ham and noodles topped with cheesy white sauce and crunchy bread crumbs.

Ingredients

- 3 lbs of course ground ham roast (not pressed/processed)
- 1 12 oz package of egg noodles
White Sauce
- 1 pound of shredded or cubed cheddar cheese
- 1 quart of milk
- 1/2 cup of butter
- pepper (no salt)
- 2 tablespoons of mustard
- 1 teaspoon of horseradish
- 1/2 cup of flour
- bread, buttered and crumbed for topping

PreheatPreheat oven to 350°F (177°C)

Prepare the noodlesCook according to instructions

LayerLayer noodles and ham in a greased baking pan.

Make the white sauceWhisk together all ingredients except for cheese and simmer over low heat. Melt the cheddar cheese into the sauce.

Pour the white sauce over the noodles and ham.

Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs over the top.

BakeBake at 350°F (177°C) for 1 hour.
