Flaming Pudding
This is a fun and exciting Christmas Pudding without alcohol. Steam for 4 hours, light afire with just sugar cubes and lemon extract!

Ingredients
Scale
Pudding
- 1 cup of suet, chopped
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of boiling water
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of bread crumbs
- 1 cup of flour
- 4 apples, grated
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of cloves
For flaming
- Sugar Cubes
- Lemon Extract – a few drops
Vanilla Sauce
- 1/2 stick of butter
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
Instructions
Pudding
- Sift together dry ingredients
- Beat egg and mix with remaining ingredients (except for boiling water)
- Pour the boiling water over all mixed ingredients and stir together
- Steam for 4 hours
Sauce
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch. Whisk in the water, stirring until blended.
- Bring mixture to a boil and continue to cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and mix in the butter and vanilla.
- You can pour it over the pudding while still warm or set aside for serving after the flaming and serve warm.
Set aflame!
- Pile sugar cubes into a heap on the pudding (without sauce)
- Pour a few drops of lemon extract on each cube
- Set on fire!
