This Dole Whip Buttercream Frosting is a refreshing and delicious throwback to your favourite them park treat! This recipe makes enough to frost a 2 layer 8 inch cake or 18 cupcakes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter
  • 4 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of pineapple juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • food coloring

Equipment

  • mixer
  • measuring cup
  • measuring spoons

Instructions

  1. Mix together butter and sugar, starting on a low speed moving to high speed and continue mixing for about 5 minutes.
  2. Slowly drizzle in pineapple juice and vanilla. Continue beating for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy adding in the salt at the end.
  3. If using food colouring, stir in a few drops at a time by hand until you reach your desired shade.
