Cola Ham
This ham is boiled in cola, then glazed with molasses and quickly baked to create a crackling glaze. The result is an incredibly tender, tasty ham!

- 1 mild cured bone-in ham with skin and fat
- 1 onion, peeled and cut in half
- 1 2 liter bottle of cola
- whole cloves
Glaze:
- 1 tablespoon of molasses
- 2 teaspoons of mustard powder
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Instructions
- Place ham and onion in a large pot for boiling. Pour the cola over.
- Bring to the boil, reduce to a simmer, put the lid on and cook for around 2 1/2 hours
- Remove from heat, take out of the pan and allow to cool.
- Remove the skin leaving a layer of fat
- Score the fat crisscross with a sharp knife to make a diamond pattern
- Place a clove in each diamond
- Brush molasses over the scored fat
- Pat mustard and brown sugar onto the molasses
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Move to a foil lined pan and bake for 10 minutes or until glaze is crispy and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
