- 1 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
- 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup instant malted milk powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla until incorporated.
Stir in malted milk powder, then flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing evenly.
Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
