  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 2 cups wheat flakes cereal (Wheaties)
  • 1 cup flaked coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.

  2. Cream shortening with butter. Gradually add sugars and cream thoroughly.

  3. Beat eggs in a small bowl and add to cream sugar mixture.

  4. In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Slowly add to cream sugar mix.

  5. Add vanilla, oatmeal, wheaties & coconut and combine well.

  6. Drop by teaspoon onto parchment lined cookie sheet.

  7. Bake 10-15 minutes.
