Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chunky applesauce
  • 1 golden delicious apple, peeled, cored and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.

  2. Grease 13x9 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

  3. In medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

  4. Set aside.

  5. In large bowl, using wire whisk, beat butter, honey, egg and vanilla until well blended, 1 minute.

  6. Stir in applesauce until just blended.

  7. Stir in flour mixture until just blended.

  8. Stir in apples.

  9. Spread batter evenly in pan.

  10. Bake 32 minutes or until edges begin to pull from sides of pan.

  11. Transfer pan to wire rack, cool completely.
