Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh onion
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to a moderate roasting temperature.

  2. Peel the onion and cut a deep cross into the top, keeping the base intact.

  3. Place the onion in a baking dish.

  4. Sprinkle beef bouillon granules over the onion and top with butter or margarine.

  5. Cover and roast until the onion is very tender, about 1 hour 10 minutes total preparation and cooking time.
