Original recipe serves 4. Current scale: 1x.
While visiting family in England we went shopping at Tesco and picked up this recipe. I have never made it but my mom has and it always comes out yummy! Can't wait to try these myself.

Equipment
Freezer, box grater, large bowl, plastic wrap, rolling pin, plate, baking sheet, pastry brush, skewer, oven
Ingredients
- 6 ounces butter
- 12 ounces flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces carrots, finely diced
- 6 ounces onions, finely diced
- 6 ounces potatoes, finely diced
- 9 ounces round steaks, with all fat and gristle removed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
Place butter in the freezer for 3 hours to freeze hard, then coarsely grate it. Stir flour and salt together in large bowl. Stir in grated butter and 13 Tablespoons of ice cold water and mix to a firm dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and leave to rest.
Mix veggies and meat with seasonings.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cut pastry into 4 and roll each out into an 8" circle. Cut round a plate to get the size. Brush edges with milk and then pile 1/4 of the filling into the center. Draw edges up to meet in the middle, seal and flute the seam of the pastry. Repeat with other 3.
Place on a baking sheet and brush with milk. Make airholes in each with a skewer. Cook towards the top of the oven for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and cook for another 40 minutes, until crisp and golden.
Serve warm.
