Ingredients

  • 1 pkg spinach plus some lettuce (broken into bite size pieces)
  • 2 hard boiled eggs - chopped
  • 2 diced tomatoes
  • 6 pieces crisp bacon - crumbled
  • 1 can water chestnuts - sliced
  • 1 can chow mein noodles - added last with dressing
  • Dressing: 3/4 c. sugar
  • Dressing: 1 c. salad oil
  • Dressing: 1 med. onion - grated finely
  • Dressing: 1/2 c. red wine vinegar
  • Dressing: 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Dressing: 1 tsp salt
  • Dressing: 1/3 c. catsup

Instructions

  1. Place spinach and lettuce in a large salad bowl.

  2. Add chopped hard-boiled eggs, diced tomatoes, crumbled bacon, and sliced water chestnuts.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, salad oil, grated onion, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and catsup to make the dressing.

  4. Add chow mein noodles last, then toss salad with dressing before serving.
