Tender juicy steak, rolled with classic stuffing and simmered until tender. A great main course for dinner parties!

Ingredients

  • 1lb round steak (1/4 to 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 1/2 cups of day old bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt and one dash of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sage and a dash of poultry seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

Instructions

  1. Cut steak into 4 pieces.

  2. Pound with a meat tenderizer with flour on one side until tender and rollable.

  3. Combine the remaining ingredients; add just enough hot water to moisten.

  4. Spread a small amount of stuffing evenly on the flour side of each steak.

  5. Roll and tie with string.

  6. Brown in a small amount of hot fat over medium heat.

  7. Add about 1/2 cup of water.

  8. Cover and simmer until tender - about 1 1/2 hours.
