Ingredients

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 6 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 6 tablespoons of Crisco
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 6 tablespoons of butter
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 6 tablespoons of brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift together dry ingredients.

  2. Cut in shortening and mix well using a fork.

  3. Beat eggs and add milk.

  4. Slowly mix in with dry ingredients until well combined to make a soft dough.

  5. Roll out about 1/4 inch thickness.

  6. Brush with softened butter.

  7. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins.

  8. Roll up like a jelly roll.

  9. Cut into 2 inch circles.

  10. Cream together butter and brown sugar.

  11. Spread mixture on bottom and sides of baking pan or skillet.

  12. Place pieces of dough in the pan with the cut edges up.

  13. Allow to stand for 15 minutes.

  14. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C)

  15. Bake for about 1 hour.

  16. Remove pan and turn upside down to cool.
